Are you looking for a new opportunity, in a stable well established business? We have the following vacancies:- 

 

Fitter/Service Technician

 

Required for our busy Repairs/ Service department.

Working in a small team, the role primarily involves the stripping down and repair of Hydraulic Cylinders.

Other responsibilities:-

Dealing with customers and booking in of the Repairs jobs.

The specifying and manufacture of hydraulic hoses to order.

The selling of components and ancillary products across the counter.

The maintenance and servicing of our JH Hydraulic Stone Splitters

Dealing with queries via the telephone and face to face.

Customer deliveries/collections.

Full training will be given. (This role would suit someone from a mechanical/engineering background.)

A clean driving licence is essential.

 

 

Machine Operator


Reporting to Production Manager Supervisor and the late shift CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer

Reading drawings and checking the correct materials are available to do the job.

Load and unloading materials to and from the machine.

Periodically checking the quality and dimensions of components with the appropriate equipment and reporting any issues to the CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer in your area.

After machining and if required move the components to the next specified area.

Any other duties as and when required which commensurate with this post.

 

Hours of work: Evening shift comprising 4 x 10 hour shifts with Fridays off

                           2pm – 12.30 am, with a shift premium of 25%.

 

Starting Pay Rate: £9.00 plus 25% uplift for unsociable hours.

 

 

Trainee CNC Setter/Operator

Reporting to and working with the Factory Supervisor/Production Manager

This is an ideal training opportunity for someone keen to specialise in learning the skills necessary to become a qualified CNC Setter/Operator and follow the career path to potentially becoming a CNC Programmer.

The role is suited to someone who is a first or second jobber, who maybe considering an Apprenticeship type role but does not initially want the commitment of college.

Working in our busy factory, your main role will be learning the functions necessary to operate and set the CNC machine tools to include:-

  • Ensuring that you read the engineering drawings accurately.
  • That you check your work at various stages of the process.
  • Working efficiently and effectively at all times.
  • Maintaining and recording set-up details for the programmes.
  • Working with other departments to ensure that targets are met.
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Keeping the area clean and tidy.
  • In conjunction with your supervisor you will be responsible for keeping comprehensive Training Records to enable us to map your progress throughout your Traineeship.

During your employment there will be the potential for you to experience working in other areas to include:-

Drilling and Milling

Manual Lathes

Welding

Stores

Assembly

Dispatch

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for an inroad into a career in engineering. Our intention is for the company to offer a year of on-the-job training with the potential to do some external training programmes to enhance the skills you are learning in house as you progress.

 

Hours of work:  8am to 4.30pm (Mon to Thurs)

8am to 3.30pm (Fri)

 

 

Assistant Stores Controller

Reporting to and working alongside the Stores Controller, Factory Supervisor and Production Manager

Responsible for:

Following procedures for the day to day operation of the Stores Department in conjunction with the Stores Controller.

The booking in of items of stock and allocating to the correct location within the department.

Working with the Stores Controller to ensure that stock levels are maintained and that any shortfalls are reported to production.

Updating information daily on Tricorn to ensure that Production has the most up to date stock levels.

Issuing stock items and kitted up parts to Welding/Assembly for processing.

Visually checking stock items for issues when they arise in to Stores either from Sub-Contractors or if they are manufactured in-house.

Working together to process all the stock recording on a computerised system and ensuring that accurate and appropriate levels are maintained.

Ensuring regular liaison with the Stores Controller/Works Supervisor and communicating any problems efficiently.

Some dealings with the requisitioning of parts.

Any other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Key Skills Required:

1)A good general engineering background

2)Ability to organise and work under pressure

3)Effective communicator and assertive approach.

4)Computer literacy

5)Accurate with figures

 

Hours of work:  8am to 4.30pm (Mon to Thurs)

8am to 3.30pm (Fri)

Expected to work overtime and Saturday mornings when required

 

 

Assembly Technician/Paint Sprayer

Reporting to the Factory Supervisor/Production Manager

Responsible for:

Responsible for assembling the general components as part of the Assembly Team when they come off the factory floor.

Checking for any leaks and dealing with any faults as they arise.

Maintaining an organised work area and keeping things neat and tidy at all times.

Assisting with painting, spraying, finishing and packaging as and when required.

Making sure any problems/queries are communicated efficiently to avoid delays in production.

Responsibility for ensuring that your tools are kept in their toolbox when not in use and any problems re tooling are reported.

Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner.

Be flexible and positive in your approach.

Any other duties as and when required.

Hours of work:  8am to 4.30pm (Mon to Thurs)

8am to 3.30pm (Fri)

Expected to work overtime and Saturday mornings when required
